Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking Water Truck CDL Drivers to join our team at various Virginia job sites. The role requires a Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

Manual transmission is preferred, and some manual labor may be required. Responsibilities include safe operation of our trucks across site conditions, DOT compliance, regular vehicle inspections, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
• Prefer manual transmission experience.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Background checks may be required for secure facility access.
• Willingness to perform manual labor to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle in varied conditions (traffic, construction sites, tight areas in Virginia).
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and guidelines.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain reports.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and logs/tickets.
• Support health and safety culture and company policies.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers.

Requirements

• Class B CDL Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Manual Transmission, preferred
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access, preferred
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work ticketsMaintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Location: Various Jobsites

Working Hours: Start time is 6:00 AM. Overtime and weekends may be required.

For this role the hourly range is $20.00-$30.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
