Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Fuel & Lube Mechanic to service construction equipment across multiple job sites in the Southwest region. The role involves operating a CDL-required fuel and lube truck to deliver diesel, oil, coolant, and grease to a fleet of heavy machinery and perform routine fluid inspections.

You will ensure DOT and OSHA standards are followed, log maintenance activities, travel between sites, and work independently in outdoor, physically demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
• Clean driving record in last 3 years.
• DOT drug screen and MVR check must pass.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Willingness to travel between job sites.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL fuel and lube service truck at job sites.
• Refuel, grease, and top off fluids on heavy equipment.
• Perform fluid inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Conduct and log pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain fuel/lube usage logs and service records.
• Load/unload parts and fluids safely.
• Identify and report fluid leaks or equipment issues.
• Communicate with operations, shop, and purchasing teams.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, OSHA, and DOT standards.

Job description

We are seeking a Fuel & Lube Mechanic to support our field operations by fueling and lubricating construction equipment across multiple job sites. You will operate a CDL-required fuel and lube truck to deliver diesel, oil, coolant, and grease to a fleet of heavy machinery. Your role is vital to keeping operations running efficiently and safely day to day. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires adherence to DOT and OSHA standards, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in varying field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL fuel and lube service truck to perform equipment servicing at job sites
• Refuel, grease, and top off fluids on earthmoving and heavy construction equipment
• Perform routine fluid inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
• Conduct and log pre- and post-trip inspections on service truck per DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate fuel/lube usage logs and service records
• Load/unload parts, fluids, and other materials safely and efficiently
• Identify and report fluid leaks or abnormal machine conditions
• Communicate effectively with operations, shop personnel, and purchasing teams
• Comply with company Health & Safety Program, OSHA regulations, and DOT standards
• Travel between job sites throughout the Southwest region

Minimum Requirements

• Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements (required)
• Acceptable driving record with no violations or accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass DOT drug screen and MVR check
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor, physically demanding environments
• Ability to work independently and maintain a professional, safety-focused mindset
• Willingness to work varying hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working around Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment
• Familiarity with diesel fuel systems, grease points, and fluid service intervals
• Understanding of DOT and OSHA requirements for vehicle and equipment operations
