Position Title: Fuel Laboratory Technician

As a Fuel Laboratory Technician, you will supervise or conduct laboratory tests on petroleum, oil, and lubricant products. Responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining or receiving petroleum product samples.
  • Conducting tests for contaminants, strength, and toxic qualities.
  • Evaluating test results against specifications.
  • Making product disposition recommendations.
  • Following fire prevention and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain quality control of petroleum fuels and related products.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment.
  • Document test results and equipment status.
  • Collect and analyze product samples from various sources.
  • Establish sample correlation with aerospace fuels laboratory.
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM and military standards.
  • Assist with daily fuel operations as needed.
  • Implement product segregation and recovery programs.
  • Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Track and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of fuel testing experience.
  • US Army Quartermaster school certification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of B1 level testing standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with ASTM and Mil-Std-3004A standards.
  • Laboratory skills: equipment calibration, chemical solutions preparation.
  • Computer skills: Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Knowledge of petroleum properties, hazards, environmental procedures, and fuel operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
  • Lifting up to 35 lbs., team lifting 50 lbs., climbing, extended sitting/standing, stooping, bending.
  • Ability to focus for extended periods.
