Job summary

JetBlue Airways in New York seeks an Accountant Staff - Fuel Accounting to accurately prepare fuel-related journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close while ensuring reporting integrity.

You will collaborate with business teams, assist with fuel system implementation, and help develop processes. A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and at least 2 years of accounting experience are required; SAP is a plus. U.S. work authorization and occasional travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; or equivalent experience with 4+ years in accounting.
• Strong communication and analytical skills essential.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Record monthly fuel-related journal entries accurately and timely.
• Prepare reconciliations of fuel-related balance sheet accounts and resolve items.
• Support fuel system implementation: testing, issue resolution, and stakeholder coordination.
• Interface with auditors and provide documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess financial impact of transactions.
• Perform weekly fuel accounting activities and variance analysis.
• Ensure internal controls are documented and followed.
• Assist with other accounting projects as needed.
