Job summary

Conexon is seeking a dedicated Drop Technician in Thomaston, GA to install, maintain, and repair FTTX drops/NID devices for our fiber network. You will coordinate with the Splicing- Drop Installation team and manage parts between warehouses and technicians.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Occasional travel, weekends, and overnight work may be required.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma required.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Operate forklifts, trenchers, plows, and bore machines.
• Safely operate a company vehicle.
• Strong communication skills.
• Initiative to work remotely with limited supervision.
• Overtime and travel may be required.
• Physically able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Survey work area for obstructions and plan drops.
• Install FTTX drops to homes and businesses.
• Maintain inventory between technicians and warehouses.
• Keep detailed records of inventory assignments.
• Operate trenching, plowing, and bore equipment for burial.
• Ensure customer services restored after trouble ticket dispatch.
• Follow vehicle policies and perform maintenance as needed.
• Travel to and work in outdoor environments, including nights/weekends.
