Job summary

Conexon is hiring a Drop Technician to install, maintain, and repair FTTX drops/NIDs, and manage inventory across field locations. Travel within the footprint and occasional nights/weekends are required to meet timelines.

Responsibilities include installing drops, restoring customer services, operating trenching/plowing/bore machines, and coordinating with warehouses and technicians. A high school diploma and strong computer/communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklifts, trenchers, plows, bore machines).
• Safely operate a company vehicle and perform out-of-hours work as needed.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel within the footprint and support remote work.

Responsibilities

• Survey work areas for obstructions and plan access.
• Install FTTX drops to homes and businesses.
• Restore services after trouble tickets are dispatched.
• Manage inventory across warehouses and projects.
• Operate trenching, plowing, and bore equipment for burying cable.
• Document inventory assignments and usage in the system.
• Coordinate with coordinators and dispatch to respond promptly.
