Job summary

Conexon is hiring a Drop Technician to install, maintain, and repair FTTX drops in customer homes and businesses. The role emphasizes field work, inventory management, and collaboration with technicians across the footprint.

The position requires outdoor work, lifting up to 100 pounds, and willingness to travel and work nights/weekends when needed. Overtime is possible to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Able to operate forklifts, trenchers, plows, and bore machines.
• Safely operate a company vehicle.
• Strong communication skills.
• Initiative to work remotely with limited supervision.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Overtime may be required.
• Willingness to travel nights/weekends.
• Outdoor work in inclement weather.
• Physically able to lift 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Survey work area to assess obstructions (water, gas, etc).
• Make contact with customers before starting work.
• Install FTTX drops to customer homes and businesses.
• Ensure services restored after trouble ticket dispatch.
• Operate trenching, plowing, and bore equipment for burying cable.
• Maintain inventory at each project location and document in inventory system.
• Coordinate with warehouses, technicians, and customers.
