Sertex Broadband Solutions is seeking a Telecom Service Installer I in Providence, RI to join our field team. You will install fiber optic service from utility location to inside of homes or businesses, troubleshoot issues, and upgrade existing lines, working with minimal supervision within a team.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, with possible overtime and weekend/evening shifts. Pay ranges $22.00-$30.00 per hour plus comprehensive benefits including health, dental, 401k with match, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Previous service installation experience or knowledge of VoIP, cable, or data networks in residential and commercial applications.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Background check and pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation of new service and performs service calls.
• Pre-wires single dwelling units and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) to provide ready hookup capabilities.
• Provide materials to educate the customer on the use of the equipment.
• Safely climb ladders.
• Read and understand engineering plans and construction prints.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.

TelecomServiceinstallersmaintainregularlyscheduledinstallationappointmentsandinteractwithhomeandbusinessresidents.Theidealcandidatecanworkindependentlyandaspartofapartofateam.Thispositionistypicallythestartoftheemployee'stelecommunicationscareer.

Thisisaregular,full-time,non-exemptposition.Normalshiftsmayincludeworking8ormorehoursandmustbeavailabletoworkovertimeincludingoccasionalweekendsorevenings.
