Job summary

LSS Canyon Hills Center seeks a passionate, dedicated individual to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of teens and their families. This role offers both full-time and part-time options with AM/PM hours, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include providing residential care to youth ages 10 to 17, working within an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment with adherence to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience working with youth is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved status.
• Background checks including criminal convictions involving harm toward children, spousal abuse, drugs or sex crimes are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide residential care to youth ages 10–17 with mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, and legal issues.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct groups, supervise youth in community settings, and model positive behavior.
• Follow child protection policies and safeguard residents and staff; transport residents and uphold health and safety regulations.

SALARY

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Dependent on experience and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide residential care to youth ages 10yr to 17yr who have a variety of mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, and legal issues. Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct groups, supervise youth in community settings, and provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling. Ensure child protection policies are followed. Safeguard residents and staff through appropriate physical intervention if necessary. Transport residents and uphold health and safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Experience working with youth, is preferred.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences (preferred), OR
  • At least 60 semester credits and one year of experience working with children; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status.
• Must successfully complete all required agency background checks, including checks for criminal convictions involving behavior harmful toward children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
