Job summary

Luzerne County Community College is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs, painting and general upkeep of the college facilities. The role includes maintaining electrical wiring and fixtures as needed, and assisting with grounds and custodial tasks when required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least three years of building maintenance experience, with demonstrated hands-on skills in repairs and preventive maintenance across a variety of trades.

Responsible for repairs, painting, and maintaining the physical structure of the College; replacing defective electrical wiring and fixtures as needed; repairs and does minor renovation and/or construction work; assists with grounds and custodial duties when necessary; may be classified according to trade such as carpenter, electrical repair person, plumber or other; set up for on & off campus functions; assist physical plant technicians with a variety of duties when necessary; assist shipping/receiving with the delivery of College books and supplies to off-campus sites when necessary; as needed, operates college equipment such as forklift, bucket truck, high lift and backhoe.Luzerne County Community College (hereinafter referred to as the 'College') is committed to a work, academic and public environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
