Job summary

Valle Vista Health System is seeking an Access Center Intake Clinician to assess patient and family needs, coordinate referrals, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care.

The role engages with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and payers, including crisis calls to community ERs.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in social work, counseling, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field; RNBSN preferred.
• Licensure: Licensed in the field, preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years in psychiatric health care preferred; prior mental health field experience preferred.

Position Summary:

The Access Center Intake Clinician is responsible for the facilitation of requests for services, assessment of patient/family clinical needs, referrals to appropriate resources and services. The Intake Clinician works as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive appropriate care. The clinicians also interface with managed care organizations, external reviewers, other payers, and as needed crisis calls to community ER’s.

Monday - Friday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm (No Weekends)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: License Eligible Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field or RN (preferably BSN) required.

Licensure: Licensed in field, preferred.

Experience: Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, addiction and recovery field required. 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric health care preferred. Previous experience in the mental health field, preferred.
