Job summary

Luzerne County Community College is seeking a Clinical Placement Coordinator to partner with Health Sciences programs and affiliated clinical sites. The role focuses on developing collaborations with hospitals and community partners and coordinating student placements to meet accreditation standards.

The incumbent will maintain documentation, manage timelines, and support regulatory compliance across clinical activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience in healthcare, higher education, or clinical education environment.
  • Experience coordinating clinical education, student clinical placements, affiliation agreements, or healthcare partnerships.
  • Experience maintaining regulatory, accreditation, or clinical compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical placements for students with program directors, faculty, and clinical affiliates.
  • Develop, renew, and maintain clinical affiliation agreements and MOUs with hospitals and healthcare partners.
  • Collect, review, and monitor required student and faculty clinical documentation (immunizations, examinations, screenings, background checks, etc.).
  • Ensure placements meet accreditation standards and clinical objectives; communicate schedules and onboarding timelines to faculty, students, and affiliates.
  • Assist with resolving placement issues and scheduling conflicts; support regulatory compliance activities.

Job description

Serves as the liaison between the College’s Health Sciences programs (excluding dental health programs) and affiliated healthcare agencies; develops, coordinates, and maintains collaborative relationships with hospitals, healthcare systems, community agencies, and other clinical partners and identifies new clinical placement opportunities to support program growth; coordinates the development, execution, renewal, and maintenance of clinical affiliation agreements, contracts, and Memoranda of Understanding; maintains and updates database of all clinical affiliations, agreements, renewal dates, and required documentation; coordinates student clinical placements in collaboration with program directors, faculty, and clinical affiliate partners; ensure student placements meet program accreditation standards, clinical objectives, and affiliation requirements; communicate clinical schedules, placement assignments, and onboarding timelines to faculty, students, and affiliate representatives; assists with resolving clinical placement issues and scheduling conflicts; assists health sciences programs with maintaining documentation required for accreditation and regulatory compliance; coordinates the collection, review, verification, and monitoring of required student and faculty clinical documentation including immunization records, physical examinations, drug screenings, CPR certification, criminal background clearances, child abuse clearances, FBI fingerprint clearances, OSHA, HIPAA, and all other required clinical training documentation; monitors compliance deadlines and communicated deficiencies to students, faculty, and program personnel.Non-Essential Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesN/ALuzerne County Community College (hereinafter referred to as the 'College') is committed to a work, academic and public environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
