Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Frozen Foods operations. Minimum qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Desired qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Retail Experience
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Promoting trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicating company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborating with associates and promoting teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Establishing performance goals for the department and empowering associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Developing adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Training and developing associates on their job performance and participating in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhering to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Creating an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gaining and maintaining knowledge of products sold within the department and responding to questions and making suggestions about products.
  • Displaying a positive attitude.
  • Developing and implementing a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Understanding the store's layout and being able to locate products.
  • Creating and executing sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Informing and educating department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those that affect frozen foods.
  • Preparing and submitting seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Assisting store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and taking appropriate action on all financial reports.
  • Maintaining awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and noting any discrepancies.
  • Scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Planning, organizing, and supervising the inventory process.
  • Training department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reporting safety risks, issues, and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Performing the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
