Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department team member to provide quality customer service and maintain department standards. You will handle merchandise stocking, rotation, labeling, and safety compliance in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to learn multiple tasks, and adherence to safety guidelines. Physical stamina is needed for lifting and standing, with uniform and CBT training completed as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service to create a positive shopping experience
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise per policies and guidelines
• Maintain product levels in all Perishable Department areas (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream)
• Process beef and grinds as directed from production tools
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested
• Clean and sanitize the department
• Maintain variety and layout standards
• Ensure advertising and sales materials are used
• Follow Food Lion guidelines and standard practices
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge
• Complete CBT, Training Packet and Training Aid courses
• Perform all other duties as assigned
