Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store leadership professional to oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, and training across departments. You will mentor team members, manage P&L, and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards and a positive store image.

You will focus on staffing, development, and safe, efficient service, ensuring a premier customer experience across peak hours and daily operations. A strong leader who communicates clearly will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to guide decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed sales goals and Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
