USVETS Ventura is seeking a Veteran Service Assistant to provide daily essential services and compassionate support in a structured living environment for veterans. The role emphasizes safety, dignity, and client-first service.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. In-person work with potential for growth and training within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Basic computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily essential services such as meals, hygiene supplies, and shelter with dignity and care.
• Support veterans with needs, concerns, and transitions—including move-ins and move-outs.
• Respond to and help prevent verbal and physical altercations; document incidents and report to site leadership promptly.
• Implement and uphold safety protocols, including bed checks, emergency actions, and room inspections.
• Work closely with clinical and residential staff to maintain a therapeutic and supportive environment.
• Assist with facility cleanliness, maintenance, inventory, and preparation for inspections.
• Maintain logs, reports, and documentation of services, safety checks, and client interactions.
