Job summary

Arbella Insurance Group seeks an Assistant Underwriter for front-line underwriting in Edmond, OK. You will assist with homeowners, auto, personal umbrella and dwelling fire policies under supervision, evaluating new business, renewals and endorsements for acceptance within authority.

You will liaison with agents and internal teams, process endorsements, review risk changes, and handle diary/come-up reports, while expanding knowledge of industry policies and tools.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent work experience in insurance.
• 2–4 years' experience in P&C insurance with at least 2 years in assistant underwriting.
• Experience with Cogen, Plis, Arbella.com, TeamTrack is helpful.
• Strong customer service, negotiation, time management and relationship building.
• Must be detailed oriented with good follow up.

Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters with reviewing and evaluating new business, renewals and endorsements for Homeowner, Automobile, Personal Umbrella, and Dwelling Fire policies.
• Process endorsements according to procedures and refer exceptions to an Underwriter for approval or processing.
• Review renewals or rewrites for risk changes and refer to an Underwriter for approval.
• Handle routine mail and review for file documentation as needed.
• Order and review inspection reports and add documentation in the policy system.
• Provide timely, courteous service to agents and company personnel.
