Job summary

GeoStabilization International (GSI) is seeking traveling field mechanics who live near regions where most work is done. You’ll travel from home to diverse job sites, with potential two-week stints and on-call rotations. You’ll carry a corporate card for travel costs and have access to provided tools and a crane truck.

This frontline position demands diagnosing fast, independent thinking, and solving problems under remote, high-pressure conditions to keep mission-critical equipment running.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently with high ownership.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Execute rapid-response repairs to keep crews operational.
• Identify root causes, not just symptoms.
• Track and document work, parts, and equipment status.
• Train operators on basic maintenance and early issue detection.
• Travel extensively and work in physically demanding environments.
