Job summary

Catholic Charities Eastern Washington is seeking an On-Call Frontline Homeless Shelter Staff member to assist with the operation of the House of Charity services in Spokane. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, supportive environment for residents, staff, and volunteers, and coordinating daily shelter activities.

The ideal candidate will be able to respond to emergencies, support case management referrals, manage intake processes, and document events.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to compassionately interact with residents experiencing homelessness.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a background check.
• Ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts.
• HIPAA and confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security in shelter areas.
• Oversee front desk operations during shifts.
• Coordinate referrals to social services for residents.
• Maintain intake forms and data entry for reports.
• Respond to emergencies and crises; document events.
• Assist with housekeeping and general shelter duties.
