Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must obtain Food Handler’s card within first 3 months of employment.
• Experience with diverse populations including mental health and chemical dependency is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Pass background checks prior to employment.
• Negative TB test required.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance.
• Commitment to CCS mission and values and respectful teamwork.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, welcoming, supportive shelter environment for guests and staff.
• Monitor front door and surrounding area to ensure only residents or authorized personnel enter.
• Develop rapport with guests using motivational interviewing techniques.
• Respond to crises, disturbances, or medical emergencies.
• Provide behavioral management for diverse populations, including mental health/chemical dependency.
• Document incidents with timely, professional reporting.
• Assist with meals and food services with volunteers and partners.
• Maintain health and safety of facility and monitor client rooms.
