Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Health Care Specialist to provide emergency and ongoing medical care for soldiers and civilians after disasters or emergencies. You will aid in inpatient/outpatient care, manage medical readiness, and supervise medical supplies and equipment both on and off the battlefield.

Training includes Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training with civilian career potential in hospitals, clinics, or EMS.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to care for patients in combat or civilian settings.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures and emergency response.
• Willingness to learn and apply medical readiness practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment
