Job summary

DC Army National Guard in Mount Carmel, TN seeks a Health Care Specialist to deliver emergency and ongoing medical care, support medical readiness, and manage equipment for Soldiers and civilians after disasters. This role develops critical clinical skills and offers pathways to civilian hospital careers through Guard training programs.

Initial training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a physical exam.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties.
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment.
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training.
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies and equipment.
