Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks Health Care Specialists to provide frontline medical support for civilians after disasters and for Soldiers on and off the battlefield. You will address health care needs, perform emergency care, and support medical readiness with supplies and equipment.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training; you will earn while you learn, receive tuition assistance, and gain experience applicable to civilian healthcare careers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Requires MOS enlistment and availability.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties.
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment.
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course.
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment.
