Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks Health Care Specialists to provide emergency and ongoing medical care for civilians after disasters and for Soldiers. You will support medical readiness, manage supplies, and train peers in lifesaving procedures.

Training includes Basic and Advanced Individual Training. Part-time service with steady drill commitments offers a pathway to civilian healthcare careers and benefits offered by the National Guard.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work under stress and in challenging environments.
• Interest in biology, chemistry, psychology or general science helps.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties.
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment.
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training.
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment.
