Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a dedicated EMT-Paramedic to administer life support care in pre-hospital settings, following state protocols and medical control guidance. You will assess patients, initiate treatment at the scene, and communicate with hospital teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining credentials, documenting care, ensuring vehicle readiness, assisting on scene with additional personnel, and delivering excellent customer service to patients and families while meeting response-time

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Alabama EMSP EMT license and CPR certification are required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish procedures to follow.
• Works to restore and stabilize cardiac, pulseless, and non-breathing patients.
• Administers initial treatment at the emergency scene and records vital signs.
• Maintains driving status and insurable driving status.
• Communicates with hospital personnel per HEMSI-approved methods.
• Documents patient care in approved reporting systems.
• Keeps vehicle and station clean, safe, and ready for use.
• Assists on scene with additional personnel and volunteers.
• Maintains credentials and keeps up-to-date with protocol changes.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and families.
