Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish procedures and need for additional assistance.
• Works to restore and stabilize cardiac, pulselessness, non-breathing patients.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and records vital signs.
• Maintains insurable driving status and keeps vehicle/ station ready.
• Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel by approved methods.
• Keeps credentials current with licensing and protocol changes.
• Documents patient care in approved reporting methods.
• Observes safety procedures for vehicle and station.
• Restocks supplies and equipment to keep unit ready.
• Performs minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
• Maintains clean, orderly vehicle and station surroundings.
• Directs/adds coordination of additional personnel on scene.
• Reports to work consistently and maintains attendance.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and families.
• Meets HEMSI response-time standards.
