Job summary

Adult Correction seeks a Corrections Sergeant I (S) to supervise Correctional Officer I's in a minimum custody facility. Reporting to a Correctional Lieutenant I, you will assign posts, oversee officer activities, and ensure custody, security, and welfare of offenders. The role requires eligibility for NC Certification and adherence to state policies.

Shift work with state benefits included. New Hanover Correctional Center in Wilmington, NC houses up to 402 male offenders, and the position

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facility operations and security procedures.
• Familiarity with prison policies and procedures.
• Must be eligible for NC Certification in Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign lower level custody staff to posts.
• Oversee officer activities to ensure custody, security and welfare of offenders.
• Assign work schedules to ensure shift coverage and enforce policies.
