Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a Border Patrol Agent to protect America's borders, enforce immigration laws, and apprehend illegal entrants across land, sea, and air.

This reemployed annuitant position offers an accelerated re-entry process and a salary range starting at $91,985 and up to $119,583, depending on steps and location. The role includes mandatory security requirements, potential dual compensation waivers, and a shift-work schedule with extensive field duties

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrated ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment in use of firearms.
• Ability to interpret and enforce immigration or comparable laws, rules, and regulations; perform investigations and anti-smuggling work.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning persons suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders; maintaining surveillance from covert positions including infrared night operations.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using Government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
