Job summary

Digital Waffle is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco to work with enterprise customers and deliver real production value in days, not quarters. You’ll embed with design partners, understand workflows in detail, and build integrations, prototypes and production code that make the product indispensable.

Expect a wide scope across the stack and direct influence over the roadmap based on field learnings; own problems end to end from first customer conversation to deployed,

Qualifications

• Commercial software engineering experience with Python, TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Experience shipping production code end-to-end in startups or early-growth environments.
• Comfortable presenting to enterprise customers and translating business problems into technical solutions.
• Proficient with AI tooling (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to boost output.
• High autonomy and ownership; knows what 'good enough' means.
• Willing to work in-person 5 days a week with a small, intense team.

Responsibilities

• Embed with enterprise customers to understand workflows, pain points and real-world constraints.
• Build custom integrations, prototypes and production features that turn pilots into committed usage.
• Ship end-to-end across Python, TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Feed field insight back into product and engineering to shape the broader roadmap.
• Own problems end to end, from first customer conversation through to deployed, instrumented code.
• Use AI tooling throughout your workflow to move fast without compromising quality.
• Partner closely with founders, product and GTM to turn customer conversations into shipped features.
