Job Description
This position involves working various shifts throughout the week, including mornings and afternoons, with responsibilities primarily related to aircraft servicing and ground operations.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, service, guide, and direct customer aircraft.
- Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, and mail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
- Handle passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company materials safely, including loading, unloading, sorting, and transferring.
- Operate pushback equipment and coordinate with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.
- Record and manage customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials.
- Transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, maintaining accurate records.
- Operate motorized equipment such as belt loaders, lift trucks, pushback tugs, and carts, or manually push and pull carts and containers.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry related to work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on skill and experience.
Qualifications
- Must be a resident of the state.
- Valid in-state driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and a background check up to 10 years.
- At least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. under the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training for airport security identification.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly and repeatedly lift weights of 40-50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Work in confined or elevated spaces and carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Over one year of relevant experience.
