Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a generalist security software engineer with deep expertise in firmware/hardware security or applied cryptography. You will own Security Labs projects end to end, building fast, isolated research infrastructures and turning results into secure architectures.

You’ll work across research and infrastructure teams to push for bold, high‑ambition bets in a rapidly evolving AI safety landscape.

Qualifications

• Deep programming experience across at least one area outside conventional software engineering
• Hands-on experience with firmware/hardware security, cryptography, or system internals
• Ability to design and evaluate security architectures for cross‑domain systems
• Proven track record of shipping impactful security research or tooling

Responsibilities

• Own Security Labs projects end to end from scope to hand-off or write-up
• Stand up fast, novel security infrastructure and isolation mechanisms
• Collaborate with research and infra teams to validate workflows
• Translate experimental results into actionable security architecture and contingencies
• Influence preferred bets and drive industry-wide security improvements
• Help select next bets and maintain high‑ambition, high‑risk research
