Job summary

Turing seeks Research Engineers to advance frontier AI systems and translate insights into scalable data, RL environments, and benchmarks. You will design rigorous experiments, build research-grade tooling, and collaborate with Research, Engineering, Product, and Operations to turn ideas into scalable applications.

This role offers the chance to contribute to both foundational research and practical AI development, with compensation of $250,000 to $350,000 OTE plus equity and opportunities for

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in AI/ML/CS or a closely related field; exceptional equivalent experience considered.
• Strong foundation in ML and practical experience designing experiments, training or evaluating models, and using modern AI tooling.
• Demonstrated experience in synthetic or agentic data generation, reinforcement learning or post-training, evaluation, or benchmarks.
• Strong programming skills and the ability to implement, test, and iterate quickly in a research environment.
• Sound scientific judgment around experimental rigor, data quality, reproducibility, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across research and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on frontier AI systems to inform product strategies.
• Build datasets, experiments, prototypes, tooling, and evaluation frameworks.
• Translate research findings into practical improvements for products and platforms.
• Share findings through technical reports, publications, open-source work, or conference participation.
