Job summary

Reflection, a frontier AI research lab, seeks a Data Product counsel to lead legal support for data acquisition and model development. You will translate US and international AI laws into actionable product roadmaps, support agentic and search capabilities, and work with product, research, engineering, and safety teams to ensure responsible development.

You will help build policies, review processes, and a mature compliance posture while enabling rapid innovation in open foundation models.

Qualifications

J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Approximately 10+ years of experience product counselling and advising tech companies.
Strong ability to identify and mitigate legal risks across product, regulatory, IP, privacy, and commerce.
Experience advising on U.S. and international AI data usage and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

Advise on laws and regulations impacting data acquisition and use for AI training across product teams.
Advise on agentic and search-based product proposals and evolving legal frameworks.
Provide guidance on risks related to data usage including IP, privacy, licensing, and AI regulation.
Design data integrity standards and processes to manage data use risks, provenance, tracking, and usage.
