Job summary

Fluidstack is hiring a hands-on hardware/ Lab Engineer in the United States to bring up accelerator platforms, validate networks, and qualify cooling and power systems. The role requires scripting test harnesses, Linux/BMC expertise, and meticulous documentation.

You''ll work with Exfo and Keysight gear, verify optical and network performance, and collaborate with partners to create robust runbooks for production deployments.

Qualifications

• You''ve personally brought up servers, accelerators, or switches from first power-on.
• You script your test harnesses and automation for repeatable runs.
• You''re deep in Linux and manage hardware at the BMC level: IPMI, Redfish, sensor telemetry, and power/boot control.
• You document methodically, producing test reports and runbooks that others can execute.
• You''ve worked hands-on with liquid-cooled, high-power hardware and treat safety procedures as part of the craft.
• You''re able to debug across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
• Bonus: RDMA/RoCEv2 fabrics, optics testing depth, Kubernetes provisioning stacks, power/instrumentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Bring up first-sample accelerator platforms end to end: rack integration, liquid cooling, firmware baseline, network, and stack validation.
• Validate network platforms across Broadcom Tomahawk/Jericho and NVIDIA Spectrum; run RFC 2544/2889 benchmarking.
• Verify the optical layer with EXFO test equipment, BER characterization, and power-budget analysis.
• Qualify CDUs and liquid cooling across vendors: commissioning, telemetry, leak detection, coolant verification, and runbooks.
• Exercise the full power oversubscription response chain: shutdown paths, power-levers, ATS transfers, breakers, and pDU telemetry; produce runbooks.
• Co-develop qualification matrices with hardware partners and turn results into production-ready runbooks.
