Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a Software Engineer II for Plan Services in Boston. You will own the design and hands-on building of scalable applications, collaborate across multiple teams, and contribute to architectural decisions.

The role emphasizes high-quality engineering practices and documentation within Wayfair’s Storefront ecosystem. The candidate will work with ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and modern JavaScript, with exposure to REST/GraphQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of transferable software development experience in a corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
• 2-3 years of professional front-end development experience using ReactJS and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong Understanding of HTML, CSS3, TypeScript, and responsive design.
• Experience with object‑oriented programming languages (C#, Java).
• Experience with SQL and cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and hands-on building of reliable, scalable applications.
• Ensure the quality of engineering direction across multiple teams.
• Contribute to architectural and code review discussions affecting the engineering ecosystem.
• Define standards to raise the bar for the teams you’ll work with.
• Collaborate with leads and engineers across teams to solve business and technical problems.
• Ensure our systems are properly documented.
• Contribute to growth and development of Wayfair's engineering organization.
