GRVTY in Maryland is seeking a motivated Frontend Developer to build intuitive web applications for a Data Lake/Warehouse. The role emphasizes questioning, failing fast, and maintainable code, in a hybrid work environment with a strong team.

You will collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists, work with REST APIs, and write unit tests. A Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of frontend software development experience.
• 3 years with a Masters in related field or 9 years experience with HS diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years with JavaScript and at least one framework (Vue/React/Angular/Backbone).
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Comfortable on a Unix command line.

Responsibilities

What Impact You'll Have

GRVTY is looking for a motivated Frontend Developer who is passionate about building intuitive applications that meet the needs of our users. What You'll be Owning

• Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications.
• JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review.
• Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences.
• Help define and interact with REST based API’s.
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues in applications and providing support.
• Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Must Have

• Must have an active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• 5 years of experience with front end software development/engineering with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• 5 years of experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Comfortable working on a *nix command line.
• Self-motivation; Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly.
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3 days per week at a Columbia, MD office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

What Would be Nice to Have

• Previous experience with a Data Lake/Warehouse is a plus.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
