Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Sr Lead Engineer - Frontend to lead frontend architecture and drive high-quality, scalable UI across product domains. You will mentor peers, shape technical direction, and collaborate with product and design to deliver robust features.

This role is based in Plano, TX, and requires strong React/Next.js and TypeScript skills. You'll own complex frontend challenges, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to building world-class customer experiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering with strong frontend focus and principal/staff level.
• Deep React and Next.js expertise, including App Router and SSR patterns.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend tooling (Tailwind, Redux Toolkit).
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs and serverless AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for frontend architecture across product domains.
• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features from UI to APIs and services.
• Lead design reviews, RFCs, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, reliability gaps, and tech debt.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design guidance.
• Contribute to hiring by conducting technical interviews and defining standards.
