Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Goshen, Indiana is looking for a Tube Grinding Operator to grind and cut tubes for front pump seal parts in a cellular manufacturing setup.

You will set up grinders, mount mandrels, and process tubes to exact dimensions, while visually inspecting quality and performing routine equipment maintenance.

A high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills are required; the shift is 2pm–10pm with overtime as needed, and employee benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Grind and cut tubes per customer specifications with a cellular manufacturing operation
• Set up grinders and mount mandrels; operate grinders to produce tubes to specified dimensions
• Visually inspect tubes per standards and perform dimensional checks
• Prepare tubes for cutting by mounting on mandrels, painting/stripping as required, and processing to specified dimensions
• Utilize SPC techniques as part of the QAS system and troubleshoot equipment as needed

Responsibilities

Grind and cut tubes for front pump seal parts per customer specifications with a cellular manufacturing operation.

• Operator processes rubber tubes by procuring tubes from staging area, setting up grinding machines, selecting proper size mandrels, and mounts of grinders.
• Set up grinders
• Operates multiple grinding machines process tubes to specific dimensions.
• Removes mandrels from grinders, dismounts tubes from mandrels at completion of operations
• Visually inspects tubes per standards
• Prepares tubes for cutting operation by mounting on proper mandrels, paint/strip tubes as required, setting up chisel cutters, placing tubes in cutters and processing to specific dimensions
• Utilize SPC techniques as part of the QAS system
• Operator performs dimensional checks on the shadow graph
• Troubleshoots, adjusts equipment, cleans and maintains equipment
