Job summary

STS Digital Group is seeking a Front Office Software Engineer to work closely with our Head of Trading, building tools, dashboards, and automation for traders on a fast-paced desk. This hands-on role sits near business users, translating trader requirements into scalable software within the broader engineering team.

You'll contribute to sprint planning, ship production-grade features, integrate with trading platforms, and actively use AI-assisted development to raise code quality and speed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in software engineering with Python or C#.
• Experience in financial markets, trading technology, or building tools for a trading desk.
• Proven track record of proactively identifying problems and shipping solutions with minimal direction.
• Demonstrated use of AI coding tools as part of your regular workflow.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to design and debugging.
• Able to translate business needs to technical solutions and explain constraints clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the Head of Trading to design, build, and ship tools that improve trading efficiency.
• Build bespoke trading utilities, dashboards, and automation from scripts to production-grade services.
• Contribute to broader engineering roadmap and help maintain shared codebases and standards.
• Integrate with internal trading platforms, pricing/risk systems, and market data feeds for real-time info.
• Spot opportunities for new tools or process improvements and act on them.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate build times and improve code quality.
• Investigate and resolve production issues affecting trading tools promptly.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Helm).
• Support deployment and troubleshooting within AWS.
