Job summary

Castleton Commodities International, LLC seeks a Senior Front Office Software Engineer to join its Data Science & Technology team in Houston. The role is hands-on, developing, supporting, and maintaining the firmwide investment, trading, and analytics platform with APIs, applications, and visualization tools.

You will work closely with commercial trading teams, build Python services, APIs, and cloud-native solutions, and help shift toward cloud-first development while maintaining code quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
• 10+ years of professional programming experience with Python.
• Advanced understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience in Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
• Excellent communication with a wide range of users.
• Results-oriented, able to handle rapid changes and tight deadlines.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with trading teams to engineer and optimize trading processes and models.
• Develop Python services and APIs with emphasis on design patterns and code quality.
• Create software supporting commercial activity: supply/demand, positions, market data analysis.
• Develop cloud-native solutions to promote integration within the Front Office IT platform.
• Build analytical and visualization tools.
