Job summary

Nationwide Vision seeks a Front Office Specialist in Queen Creek, AZ to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience and handling essential check-in/out tasks.

You will greet patients, answer phones, verify insurance, collect payments, and support office operations while complying with HIPAA. Previous medical office or optometry experience preferred; ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; previous optometry and/or ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Favorable result on background check as required by state.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support.
• Greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave.
• Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times.
• Practice urgency at all times with consideration to the patient’s time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule.
• Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets.
• Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures.
• Manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service.
• Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
• General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by the manager
