Front Office Specialist

Job Summary:
Provides professional care for patients following established standards, practices and office policies. Checks patients in, verifies insurance, files, and answers phones.Works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or office supervisor.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering multi-line telephones and directing calls to appropriate staff

  • Checking e-fax and forwarding to corresponding department

  • Insurance verification/Obtain authorizations for office visits

  • Scheduling/rescheduling appointments for established patients and hospital follow-ups

  • Completing patient consent forms-sending & reviewing

  • Communicate with patients via patient portal/email.

  • Check patient's in/out

  • Collect co-payments and account balances

  • Confirm patient appointments

  • Maintain the waiting lobby clean.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Self motivated
  • Willing to learn new procedures and advance knowledge
  • Able to adapt to ongoing changes
  • Able to multitask
  • Dependable
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
