You will manage scheduling, check-in/out, collect demographic and payment information, and maintain a clean, efficient front desk while ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy in NextGen EHR. This full-time, on-site position supports a patient-centered approach to care and team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical office administration preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Keyboarding at 35+ WPM.
  • Fluency with word processing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management and critical thinking.
  • Professionalism with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage appointment scheduling for providers with accuracy per protocol.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out; collect demographics and payments.
  • Verify insurance and payment information; confirm reminders.
  • Maintain waiting areas and cleanliness.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and data privacy.
  • Coordinate with care teams to support patient flow.

A Kaniksu Community Health Front Office Receptionist - Behavioral Health is not just responsible for providing excellent customer service. They are committed to providing an excellent patient experience while performing essential clinical or administrative work in a fast-paced, productive environment. YOU ARE an essential team member charged with assisting patients in managing their care at Kaniksu Community Health.

A typical day of a Front Office Receptionist - Behavioral Health might include;
  • Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety standards within the department.
  • Provide appointment scheduling for Providers, ensuring accurate appointment time is allotted, per published protocols.
  • Complete patient check-in: ensure all required demographic information is accurate in the NextGen Electronic Health Record. Collect patient insurance and payment information.
  • Complete reminder calls for following day appointments and review NextGen for any alerts.
  • Complete patient check-out duties: verify alerts, payments, and information are accurate before patient leaves. Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary with the primary care provider.
  • Responsible for keeping waiting room and work areas neat and orderly. Assure restrooms remain free of debris and remain clean.
Experience Needed to Land this Gig:
  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Documented experience in Medical office administration and functions is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain corporate confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Keyboarding at 35+ WPM preferred
  • Fluency in word processing
  • Ability to work in the absence of direct supervision
  • Excellent time management & critical thinking skills
  • Tact and graciousness in dealing with the public. Continuous professionalism with patients and co-workers
