Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- Extensive experience in IT with strong knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income Products (FX, Cash, Derivatives)
- Solid Supervisory / Management / team leadership experience in technology support of Capital Markets trading and related functions.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income trading activities (Pricing, booking, execution, live risk, market risk, etc.), market data feeds, and applications such as ION, Bloomberg TOMS, is highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good temperament, with the ability to face challenging trading clients.
- Ability to manage priorities, book of work / open issues from trading desks, and work across IT and external vendors to capture, track, update status, and drive issues to resolution.
- Solid Linux, SQL, and scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Java, Python, etc.)
- Experience with Database, Linux, Windows, and basic infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of enterprise scheduler platforms and monitoring tools (e.g., Control-M, Geneos ITRS, ServiceNow).
- Working knowledge of underlying infrastructure and interoperability (servers, storage, network, middleware).
- Solid knowledge of and experience with ITIL and Service Management practices (Event, Incident, Problem, and Change management).
- Production data analysis using ServiceNow, PowerPoint, and MS Excel charts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Join a large team of production support analysts across Canada, the U.K., and the U.S., providing 24x7 support to ensure high service levels for Fixed Income Clients in Trading, Pricing, and Risk management systems.
- Bring technical and business knowledge, leadership, project management, and communication skills, developing deep understanding of applications, architecture, and data flows.
- Manage Major Incidents with expertise.
- Act as an escalation point for operational teams, participating in incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis.
- Own day-to-day operational support, driving stability, reliability, and service excellence.
- Use data-driven approaches for improving production stability through metrics and reports, collaborating with development teams and vendors.
- Ensure proper logging of incidents, conduct reviews, and track actions to closure.
- Implement tools and process improvements for efficiency.
- Provide leadership and expertise to team members.
