Qualifications

• Minimum two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
• Prefer healthcare management/administration certification (optional).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the physician practice.
• Answer phones, schedule and confirm appointments; reschedule as needed.
• Check in patients and collect demographics; enter data into electronic system; verify insurance.
• Assist in check-out, referrals processing and scheduling.
• Collect co-pays and post charges; perform charge entry and patient balance processing.
• Distribute information about office policies and the practice.
• Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
