Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification preferred.
• Proven experience in a front office or medical assistant role, particularly in insurance verification.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify/update demographics and insurance information.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Conduct pre-authorization and verification of insurance benefits prior to patient appointments.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain coverage and eligibility details.
• Ensure insurance information is documented in patient records.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar.
• Prepare and maintain patient files with HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with billing and follow-up on unpaid claims.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow.
• Assist with other clerical duties as needed.
