Job Description Summary
The Front Office/Housekeeping Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering results that contribute to the hotel's success by managing front desk, food service, housekeeping, and administration. The role involves preparing the hotel for daily operations, focusing on guest and staff satisfaction, controlling expenses, and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Sonesta Service standards in guest interactions, managing guest amenities, food and beverage outlets, and hotel maintenance.
  • Training staff and providing necessary tools and equipment.
  • Managing front office and reservations to ensure superior guest service and security of transactions.
  • Overseeing accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
  • Preparing financial reports and managing housekeeping and laundry operations to meet quality and brand standards.
  • Conducting routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Managing food and beverage operations, inventory, and store maintenance.
  • Controlling departmental expenses and managing budgets.
  • Requisitioning inventory, managing costs, and ensuring proper storage.
  • Handling human resources processes including recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Managing IT hardware/software and hotel supplies procurement.
  • Implementing service recovery procedures and responding to guest complaints.
  • Promoting teamwork and attending hotel events for sales and representation.
  • Enforcing hotel policies, acting as “Manager on Duty,” and selling hotel rooms.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and alcohol laws.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in extended stay industry preferred.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.
  • Strong communication, math, organizational, and training skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.

Additional Information:

Hourly pay range: $28.84 - $31.95, depending on experience.
