Job summary

BBVA in New York is seeking a Cross-Desk Efficiency Associate to centralize desk processes, provide business analytics, and strengthen front-office controls. You will work closely with traders, perform P&L reconciliations, and help automate workflows across desks.

The role emphasizes operational efficiency and risk controls, with a focus on pricing analytics, market data, and platform configurations. Requires 4 years of experience and a solid finance background.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting front-office Markets desks, electronic markets businesses, or related control/analytics functions.
• Proficiency in Python for business reporting, quantitative analysis, and process automation.
• Solid understanding of financial products including U.S. Treasuries, futures, benchmark hedges, Term SOFR, and volatility surfaces.
• Working knowledge of electronic pricing controls and execution analytics in electronic trading platform configuration, pricing parameters (spread, skew, size rules), and market execution analytics.
• Strong background in desk P&L reconciliation, position management, P&L explainers, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Middle Office, and Back Office.
• Familiarity with front-office trading platforms, volatility calibration tools, Totem, and portfolio compression workflows.
• Technical background (majors in Math, Engineering, Physics, etc.)
• 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• P&L quality control and desk reconciliation against official P&L.
• Analyze lost RFQs and executions; identify improvements to pricing controls.
• Produce and maintain business reports covering volumes, P&L, RFQs, and client activity.
• Maintain trader-approved market data, calibration inputs, and platform configurations.
• Identify and investigate front-office position and booking discrepancies across desks.
• Support automation and AI-enabled workflow improvements across desks.
