Job summary

BBVA is seeking a Cross-Desk Efficiency Associate in New York to support multiple desks by centralizing processes and delivering analytics. You will work closely with traders, focusing on control, automation, and efficiency without taking on pricing or market-risk responsibilities.

The role requires a technical background with 4 years of experience, proficiency in Python for reporting and automation, and knowledge of U.S. Treasuries, futures, and volatility surfaces.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for business reporting, quantitative analysis, and process automation.
• Solid background in desk P&L reconciliation and cross-functional collaboration with Finance and Middle/Back Office.
• Familiarity with front‑office trading platforms, volatility calibration tools, and portfolio compression workflows.

Responsibilities

• P&L quality control: Reconcile desk’s flash P&L against official P&L and run explainers.
• Business analytics: Analyze RFQs by price, latency, skew, size and venue; assess bad fills and adverse selection.
• Analyze execution performance and suggest pricing controls improvements; obtain review from the trading desk.
• Produce and maintain reports covering volumes, P&L, hit/miss ratios, RFQs, client activity, and execution mode (electronic vs. voice).
• Manage Market Data & Platform Controls: upload volatility calibration data, Totem submissions, maintain market data and configurations; simulate CCP drills.
• Identify and investigate front‑office position discrepancies; coordinate resolution with Trading, Middle Office, and Back Office.
• Identify automation opportunities and AI-enabled workflow improvements across desks.
• Model trades in pricing tools and provide cross‑desk support for operational issues.
