The Front of House position is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly role with a varied schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This position reports to the Guest Experience Manager in the Guest Experience Department.

Primary Role

To deliver superior customer service and maintain a clean, safe, fun, and educational environment by engaging with all museum guests in the Welcome Center, Store, and Security areas.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and engage guests cheerfully
  • Communicate museum information fully and accurately
  • Open and close Front of House areas: Welcome Center, Store, and building daily
  • Make scheduled announcements
  • Maintain exhibit floor cleanliness and sanitation
  • Familiarize with store inventory for recommendations
  • Process sales transactions accurately using POS software
  • Ensure data integrity in CMA tools
  • Sell museum memberships and help meet monthly goals
  • Provide farewell and concierge services to guests
  • Troubleshoot technical and customer service issues
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff and guests
  • Verify guests' tickets, badges, or staff escort before security check
  • Stay alert and aware of surroundings
  • Attend and participate in team meetings

Requirements

1-2 years face-to-face customer service experience

1-2 years cash handling experience

Experience with Point of Sale systems (Altru experience preferred)

Experience working with children and families

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in hospitality or education preferred

Salary

$15.50 to $16.50 per hour

Additional Details

Position is entry level, part-time, with varied hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Reports to the Guest Experience Manager.
